The California Youth Defender Center (CYDC) is a nonprofit that has trained defenders and advocated for youth in California's juvenile justice system since 1999. CYDC guides over 2,400 youth defenders statewide through legal training, policy advocacy, coalition building, legislation, and strategic litigation. The next Executive Director will lead a small but high-impact team, driving strategic leadership, fundraising, board relations, and movement partnerships at a pivotal moment for youth justice in California.

Desired qualifications include: significant senior or executive-level leadership experience; demonstrated fundraising success; professional experience in criminal or youth justice, juvenile defense, or youth defense policy; J.D. preferred; and a deep commitment to racial justice and equity.
